Echidna

The echidna is a small, spiny mammal native to Australia and New Guinea. Known for its unique appearance, it has a long snout, sharp spines covering its back, and lays eggs despite being a mammal. Echidnas are solitary, insect-eating animals and are one of only two monotreme species in the world.
