Spirit Board

A spirit board, also known as a talking board, is a flat board marked with letters, numbers and the words yes, no and goodbye, used in nineteenth-century spiritualist parlor sessions. Participants rest their fingers on a small pointer, which is believed to glide across the board and spell out messages from the beyond.
